To succeed in games which have a puzzle or brain teaser element, you need to be able to think logically and have a huge amount of patience.

However, there are some puzzles and brain teasers which can send even the most patient and practiced puzzler off the deep end, and many of these are found in Nintendo 3DS games. Let’s take a look at 5 of the most maddeningly difficult puzzles Nintendo has served up so far. And who knows what further challenges await us in the new Wii U games that have just made it to the market?

1.	The ‘goat puzzle’ in Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (Director’s Cut)

Ask anyone who has ever played this Broken Sword title about the ‘goat puzzle’ and they will shudder or at least flinch in recollection of its fiendish level of difficulty. It sounds easy enough – you have to trap a goat that’s trying to butt you. However, to get past the animal, you must play the game in a different way than in previous puzzles, and nothing in your inventory can help you.

2.	The Beach Bowl Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy

Once you’ve reached the waterfall planet in this Nintendo Wii game, you’ll soon encounter a world of watery problems. The waterfalls are far too high for Mario to reach, but it may be possible using an Ice Mario powerup located nearby. Sound easy? You’ll actually spend hours figuring Mario games like these out.

3.	The Chocolate Code Puzzle in Professor Layton and the Curious Village

In this puzzle, you have a sheet of 30 chocolate squares, and you need to figure out the fewest number of times you’ll need to break the chocolate until all 30 squares are separated. This one is so difficult it will make your head hurt, but what else would you expect from the king of all puzzle games?

4.	The Elusive World 4 in New Super Mario Bros

Somewhere within this adventure there is a way to unlock World 4, but it is possible to play the game time and time again without finding it. It’s maddening!

5.	The Minecart Ride in Super Paper Mario

In this game, it’s all going swimmingly until Mario hops into a cart and begins to trundle along the track looking for the key. However, the key doesn’t seem to exist, and you’ll need to look at the problem in a whole new way in order to solve it.

“The Walking Dead” is off to quite a start in season 3. The storyline having the crew find a prison has resulted in a very fast-paced start to the season, with tons of zombies to clear out in the prison yard and in the cell blocks. I doubt fans will be complaining about too few zombies this year.

The show is blowing away the ratings as it continues to gain fans, and now we’re hearing that the advertising rates for the show are exceeding many network programs. This is great news for fans of graphic comics, and also for artists and authors as well. If you create something cool, whether it’s a graphic novel or a regular novel, there are many ways to monetize that success in the future. Of course, you should be doing these things for the art. If the money motivates you, you’re probably not going to find success, unless you end up on reality TV.

Also, in today’s world, with blogs, e-books, iPads that can feature graphic novels and other cool ways to display your content, it becomes much easier for artists to get their work out there even without convincing a publishing house. Even making hard copies is easier. Things like full color printing are much cheaper these days, and if people can save money with UPrinting brochures they can also save money by self-publishing a graphic novel.

The key is to get out there. If you have something you want to write or create, there are many avenues to get it seen.

Many people enjoy the thrill of casinos. These days, there are more ways than ever for people to gamble and play games of chance. Online casinos, both in the United States and abroad have grown in popularity throughout the years. Roulette is a popular casino game that many people enjoy. Roulette involves a ball randomly bouncing around a spinning wheel before stopping on a number that corresponds with a color.

The person playing sets a certain amount of chips on a number, color, number category such as even or odd, range, etc. If the ball lands on a winning choice, the player receives a payout based on the odds of their choice occurring. If their choice doesn’t come up, the player loses the money they wagered. Online roulette allows payouts based on people who load accounts with a credit or debit card. Like roulette played in any no deposit required casino, strategy is involved when playing in an online casino.

It’s an Odds Game

Roulette is an easy game to learn, because you simply put chips on a choice and let it ride. However, greater payouts are available for risking greater odds. In order to understand strategies, you must first understand the odds. Odds charts for Roulette are widely available and can be learned by reading through it. The strategy used online is the same strategy that is used in a no deposit required casino.

For instance, playing the outside of the table has a 47.37 percent chance, with the payout doubling whatever money you play.

Playing the Outside of the Table

For beginners, playing the outside of the table, red, black, even, odd, etc. is the safest option. Not only do you have a greater chance of receiving a payout, it involves less thinking and stress. The downside is that the payout isn’t as great as other strategies.

Spreading it Out

Another popular strategy both online and in a no deposit required casino is to diversify your choices. This involves placing smaller amounts of money on options with higher payouts, such as landing a particular number or set of numbers, while spreading it out on easier options to win so that if you lose a few, you have a chance of regaining or protecting some money. This is called insurance.

Strategy is key when playing online roulette. Be sure to read up on various strategies so you can play intelligently and increase your money.

The biggest poker tournament in the world has its final table set for the ultimate showdown. The World Series of Poker still gets the most attention, and we’ll see the final showdown later this year. Jesse Sylvia of Massachusetts holds the chip lead with more than 44 million chips. Andras Koroknai of Hungary is in second place with around 30 million chips and Greg Merson is in third with nearly 29 million. When you look at the field and the leaders you start to understand how this is a worldwide phenomenon.

Also, we now have so many poker stars who got their start with online poker, and the innovation just keeps coming. You have tons of players building up their skills with iPad poker, and off course there are many online events for the world series of poker. Combine that with all of the states that are adding gambling and poker, and we’re seeing the popularity of the game continuing to grow.

This bodes well for all sorts of companies. The feds have basically said this is a game of skill, deferring now to the states to regulate this going forward. In some ways this is creating a free for all. How it evolves precisely nobody knows, except that there are more places to play and more players with easy access. So we’ll likely see this event drawing a ton of attention around the world for years to come.

When I finished my first novel, “A Roman Peace in Briton: Blood on the Stone”, I must admit that I was quite pleased with myself. Little did I know that writing the novel was the easy part. I quickly learned that marketing and selling the novel is where an author makes their hay, so to speak. A huge part of marketing in today’s publishing world, is convincing the more credible book reviewers to take a gander at one’s work. As one published author recently shared with me, “A book review is worth a thousand ads.”

To that end, about a month ago I sent out a stack of my books to willing reviewers. Of course, I didn’t expect immediate results as I know how busy reviewers can be, many juggling careers, writing their own novels, and writing reviews. Yours truly has his own stack of books that I intend on whittling down and churning out reviews on. Be that as it may, here is one of the first reviews to emerge of “A Roman Peace in Briton: Blood on the Stone”, by Dana Burgess of Let’s Book it.

The culture of drinking permeates our society
The media and peers pressure to alleviate sobriety
Messages converge and conflict to create confusion:
designed by purveyors and marketers to create the illusion
That alcohol is the key to enhance life’s experiences
That beer, wine or drink is a must in all circumstances
To celebrate, commiserate or punctuate each time
a social gathering is planned, a well-stocked bar is prime
Raise your glass, give a toast, down a shot, it’s expected
Not interested? All protests and excuses are rejected
because drinkers can’t handle it, they get uncomfortable and nervous
When there’s a holdout, they relentlessly press him into service
to fill his glass with something stronger than water or carbonation
so they don’t have to face the mirror for succumbing to their own temptation
Instead they hide behind the false camaraderie
created by a bottle instead of shared history

For many who believe the hype, it follows them back home
so pervasively throughout the media is the image shown
they start by drinking with others — pretty soon they drink alone
even those who have it buried deep within their genes
who’ve had blackouts, loss of speech and a host of other things
fool themselves into believing that the disease can’t touch them
even as they ignore the pain and grief that others will condemn
But for the few who’ve battled and been scarred
every day is a constant struggle against the bombard
of images, words and pressure
trying to make them something lesser
than what they’re striving so hard to become
to sail above rather than to stay numb
one day at a time, that is their prayer
for salvation from the demons that stare
trying to seduce them into falling from grace,
laboring constantly and tirelessly to erase
the ebb, flow and pull of addiction pulsing through their veins
or the sight of a loved one trying to throw off those chains
